Adam McWherter Accident – A young man has been hospitalized following a tragic sledding accident. The victim has been identified as Adam McWherter. According to reports, Adam McWherter, a resident of Anamosa, Iowa sustained serious injuries from a sledding accident after he entered the road and was struck by a vehicle.

How did the crash happen?
On Wednesday, January 10, at 11:32 a.m., emergency responders were dispatched to 13552 Buffalo Road in Anamosa. A 2008 GMC Envoy, traveling northbound, collided with a child named Adam who was sledding down a hill in a westbound direction. The impact resulted in injuries to the child, who, despite not being alone, received prompt care but lost consciousness immediately.

Adam’s pulse was initially faint and eventually faded away. Paramedics worked diligently for approximately 20 minutes in the ambulance at the base of the driveway, successfully restarting his heart. Subsequently, he was transported to Jones Regional, where efforts were made to stabilize him before preparing for his transfer to the University of Iowa’s Stead Family Children’s Hospital.

Following a series of diagnostic procedures, including CT scans, EKG, EEG, and various tests, the following injuries were identified: a broken clavicle, a small pelvic bone fracture, a strained neck ligament, and a spinal fracture above the shoulders. The incident is currently under investigation, with the Iowa State Patrol receiving assistance from the Anamosa Police Department, Jones County Sheriff’s Office, and Anamosa ambulance. The towing service provided by Red was also involved in removing the vehicle from the scene.

According to Wilkinson, the money raised through this effort will go to the family to help with the pay medical bills, travel, food, and future care. He needs that more than anything right now.”
