Amaya Monae Johnson, 18, of Council and 10-month-old child killed in Bladen County fatal crash involving log truck
Two people were killed in a Thursday, Jan. 18, crash near Clarkton, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
According to a NCSHP representative, a Honda Accord was traveling east on NC 211 just before 5:30 p.m. when it crossed the center line and collided head-on with an unloaded log truck.
18-year-old Amaya Monae Johnson, of Council, and a 10-month-old who were in the Honda were killed in the crash.
The driver of the truck was not injured.
The NCSHP representative stated that Johnson was not wearing a seatbelt, while the child was secured in a child restraint.
