Anthony J Milone Death: Retired Stamford Fire Chief has passed away at age 86

Anthony J Milone Death – The Stamford Fire Department announces the passing of retired Stamford Fire Chief Anthony J. Milone with much grief. He was surrounded by his devoted family when he passed away at the age of 86.

Theodore and Helen Milone welcomed Anthony, also known as Tony, into the world on March 9, 1938 in Stamford, Connecticut. He spent more than 60 years living in Stamford, Connecticut, where he was raised. Anthony studied carpentry at J.M. Wright Technical School. He developed into a skilled carpenter with a reputation for being able to construct anything.

After serving as a firefighter in Stamford, Anthony was appointed chief of fire in 1998. Anthony would always shine with pride when he talked about his love for fighting fires and his brothers who work in the department.

Within the fire service, he was well regarded for his leadership and commitment. After 33 years of service, he retired from the Stamford Fire Department on July 1, 2000.

Marguerette Milone, the love of Anthony’s life, was his wife of 64 years. They developed a wonderful life together since they loved one another so much. Together, they realized all of their aspirations while raising their three sons. Anthony enjoyed working in his yard, playing golf, and spending a night out with friends.

Anthony spent more than 20 years of his retirement years living the life of his dreams in Apache Junction, Arizona. He relished everything that life in the West had to offer while living in the house he created beneath the Superstition Mountains. Anthony went back to Connecticut in 2021, where he spent his days with his family and taking in the east coast wind.

Theodore (Lynn), Emil (Alma), and Anthony Jr. (Dana) are Anthony’s three surviving sons. He was the dad his kids could always rely on, and his three sons brought him great pleasure and happiness. The five grandchildren Anthony has—Kelly, Anthony III (Samantha), Thomas (Morgan), Haylee, and Mia—always make him beam with pride. Anthony became a great-grandfather only a year ago, and Theodore T. Milone never failed to make Pop smile.

In addition, Anthony leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, his sister Grace (Mike) Guarnieri, brother-in-law Raymond (Elaine) Cuzzocreo, and sister-in-law Claudia Milone. Along with his brother Theodore Milone and wife Marguerette Milone, he was predeceased by a number of close friends who he regarded as family.

Anthony moved into the Bridges by EPOCH Memory Care facility in Trumbull, Connecticut in 2023, and the entire team there provided him with excellent care. Kendra, Anthony’s particular angel, was there to provide him and his family with unwavering love and support. The family was truly blessed by the Bridges personnel.

Thursday, August 29 at 11:00 am is the Celebration of Life funeral mass at St. Jude Church in Monroe, Connecticut.

Donations to the Burn Foundation of Stamford Firefighters Local 786 in Anthony’s honor may be made in place of flowers.
