Ashley Stopczynski Columbus East IL Death: – A tragic vehicle crash in Michigan claimed the life of one and left two others wounded.
Ashley, Carl “Fuzzy Bear,” and Melinda Stopczynski were named as the victims. Ashley reportedly died, and Carl “Fuzzy Bear” and Melinda both suffered significant injuries.
On Scottville Road, north of Conrad Road, a head-on collision occurred between a Ford Expedition SUV and a Ford F-150 pickup truck that was pulling a pontoon boat. The crash injured four individuals.
A 16-year-old from Scottville was at the wheel of the Expedition when it veered off the road and crashed into the F-150, which was carrying Carl Stopczynski, 61, Melinda Gocza Stopczynski, 67, and Ashley Stopczynski, 33. The four people were taken to Corewell Health Ludington Hospital after suffering significant injuries.
A trauma center in Grand Rapids received the three victims from the F-150 after they were transported. Drunk driving, drug use, or distracted driving are not suspected factors in the accident. Numerous emergency services units were dispatched to the location.
Ashley Stopczynski was an accomplished singer and scholar who graduated with honors from Saint Mary’s student (SMC). She was a beloved member of the student choir, Belles Voix.
As a member of Belles Voix, Ashley’s passion for singing and music was obvious to everyone. Her singing brought out the best in the choir’s instrumentation and harmony.
She credits her time at SMC and Belles Voix with shaping her post-graduation life. Thanks to her kindness, skill, and joy, Ashley was well-liked at SMC. She was a dedicated member of the SMC and Belles Voix communities, and her fellow students and faculty will never forget her.
