Avery Koonce USAFA Death Taylor TX:- 19-year-old cadet from Central Texas found dead at U.S. Air Force Academy. The victim has been identified as Avery Koonce of Taylor Texas.

What happened to Avery Koonce?
An investigation is ongoing after 19-year-old Avery Koonce, a cadet at the U.S. Air Force Academy, was found unconscious in her dormitory and pronounced dead despite life-saving efforts by first responders.

Koonce, a 2024 graduate of Thrall High School and member of the Academy’s Women’s Track and Field team, was set to graduate with the class of 2028. She was recognized for her athletic achievements in high school and had received a Congressional Nomination for the Academy.

The Academy’s superintendent, Lt Gen. Tony Bauernfeind, expressed deep sorrow over her loss and noted the impact she had on her peers and team. Support services have been made available to the Academy community in response to her death.

“We lost an incredible teammate last night. While only with us for a short time, Avery positively impacted her unit, her intercollegiate team, and her class – her loss will be felt across USAFA. Our team is focused on providing support to Avery’s family, Cadet Squadron 38, the Track and Field team, and the entire Academy family.”Academy Superintendent Lt Gen Tony Bauernfeind.
