Belle Glade Horrific Accident – A devastating single-vehicle accident has claimed the lives of nine people, including six children.
The tragedy unfolded on Monday evening when an SUV overturned in a canal near Hatton and Southwest Connors highways.
Four occupants were pronounced dead at the scene, while five others succumbed to their injuries at the hospital overnight. One additional passenger remains hospitalized in critical condition.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office has identified the victims and confirmed that six of the deceased were children between the ages of one and fourteen. The circumstances surrounding the crash are under investigation.
New details have emerged about the tragic crash that claimed the lives of nine people, including six children, in Belle Glade on Monday evening. According to investigators, the Ford Explorer was traveling westbound on Hatton Highway around 7:30 p.m. when the driver failed to negotiate a left-hand curve.
The vehicle veered off the road, struck a guardrail, and overturned into a nearby canal. Two of the six individuals who survived the initial impact were airlifted to the hospital for critical care.

Palm Beach County Fire Rescue Captain Tom Reyes described the scene as one of the most harrowing he has encountered in his career, with both children and adults among the victims.
Tragically, six of the nine deceased were minors. The youngest, a baby girl, was on the brink of her second birthday. The others included two five-year-old boys, a three-year-old boy, a 14-year-old boy, and an eight-year-old boy.
Three women were also identified among the victims: 29-year-old Leiana Alyse Hall and 21-year-old Anyia Monique Lee Tucker. The driver, 56-year-old Pamela Wiggins, lost her life just a day before her 57th birthday.
Twenty-six-year-old Jordan Rickey Hall, the sole survivor of the crash, remains hospitalized with serious injuries.
