Bianca Beyrouti GoFundMe – The Bay Area film community is mourning the untimely loss of Bianca Beyrouti, a talented filmmaker, producer, and storyteller who passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2025.

Bianca was a deeply admired creative force with over a decade of experience in narrative and documentary filmmaking, leaving an indelible mark on the industry and her community.

Born and raised in the Bay Area, Bianca dedicated her life to crafting compelling stories that resonated with diverse audiences. Her career was a testament to her passion for filmmaking and her commitment to amplifying voices through powerful narratives.

Bianca’s contributions to the documentary world were significant. Most recently, she worked on the producing teams at Actual Films, a renowned documentary production company, and ITVS for the acclaimed series Independent Lens.

During her time with ITVS, Bianca played a pivotal role in packaging over 100 documentary features, including the critically acclaimed docuseries Philly D.A. for PBS broadcast. Her work with these organizations highlighted her ability to collaborate on impactful stories that addressed pressing social issues and engaged audiences worldwide.

Her narrative film credits were equally impressive. Bianca produced the short film La Macana, which won the 2023 HBO Pa’lante! Max Latino Film Competition, showcasing her ability to champion diverse voices in storytelling.

She also produced the feature film Bring Me an Avocado, which won the 2019 Cinequest Audience Award and is now streaming on Tubi. These projects demonstrated her skill in creating emotionally resonant films that touched viewers’ hearts.

Bianca’s work was celebrated at film festivals around the globe, where her projects were screened to critical acclaim. She managed or advised on numerous successful crowdfunding campaigns, coordinated productions across seven states, and collaborated with award-winning directors. Her involvement with esteemed film festival screening committees and juries further underscored her dedication to supporting and uplifting the film community.

On January 2nd, we lost Bianca Beyrouti—a loving daughter, sister, friend, community activist, and a cornerstone of the Bay Area film community. Bianca was known for her generosity, loyalty, integrity, and adventurous spirit. She was a thoughtful communicator who inspired trust, and she dedicated her life to creating opportunities for marginalized communities.

Through mutual aid organizations, the Bay Area Media Makers Summit, and her role on the board of the Arab Film and Media Institute, Bianca worked tirelessly to increase access and foster inclusion. Whether advising or actively working on indie film projects, she was a lifeline and resource to so many. Her absence leaves an irreplaceable void in our community.
