Billy Jamison Death, 67-year-old delivery driver killed in Shreveport carjacking/robbery incident

Billy Jamison Death – A tragic robbery and carjacking claimed the life of 67-year-old Billy Jamison, a pharmaceuticals delivery driver, on Wednesday, January 22, in Shreveport, Louisiana.

The incident occurred just before 10:30 a.m. in the parking lot of a Walgreens located at the intersection of Line Avenue and Kings Highway.

Shreveport Police Chief Wayne Smith stated that Jamison was delivering medicine when the suspect approached him, robbed him, and shot him before fleeing the scene in Jamison’s delivery van.

Emergency responders arrived quickly and transported Jamison to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Despite their efforts, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival. The stolen van was later recovered, but no suspects have been identified at this time.

Chief Smith disclosed that this was not the first time Jamison had been targeted in the line of duty. In October 2024, he was robbed at gunpoint during a delivery at a pharmacy on Pierremont Road. That case remains unsolved, and authorities are investigating whether the two incidents could be connected.

Jamison’s death has left his family, colleagues, and the Shreveport community heartbroken. Known for his dedication to his work and his kind demeanor, he was a beloved figure among those who knew him. Community members and local leaders have expressed outrage over the senseless act of violence, calling for swift justice.
