Blanchardstown Suicide: Man jumps to death on N3 at Blanchardstown, Traffic incident

Blanchardstown Suicide: The incident created significant delays in the area. Motorists are urged to avoid this area.

Motorists were warned to avoid the M3 this afternoon, as all lanes were closed due to a serious incident. All lanes at Junction 2 Connolly reopened at approximately 6 p.m. this evening after being closed all day due to a suicide investigation.

The closure is expected to be in place for several hours. Law enforcement agencies said a man passed away after jumping off the bridge and landing on a moving trailer.

The victim died from the trauma he sustained. Emergency services are on the site, with reports of lengthy delays. Traffic was diverted at the slip road to the hospital. There were long delays reported in the area.

The M50 said on X: “M3: diversions are in place at J2 Connolly hospital inbound and vehicles stuck after closure are currently being turned around. The closure is expected to remain in place for the next few hours. Please avoid M3 if possible.”

Gardai said: “Diversions are in place on the N3 inbound at Blanchardstown, Dublin 15, as Gardaí and emergency services attend a road traffic incident. Heavy traffic disruption is expected.”
