Candice’s story of love, resilience, and determination touched the lives of everyone who knew her, and her memory continues to inspire those she left behind.
Candice was a single mother to two beautiful children: Aria (11) and Wesley (1). Her world revolved around them, and her love for her kids was boundless. Despite the immense challenges she faced during her illness, her primary focus remained on ensuring her children were cared for and supported.
Her friends Nicole and Ashley, who spearheaded a GoFundMe campaign to support Candice and her family, described her as a beacon of positivity, love, and selflessness. “If you’ve ever come into contact with her, then you already know the positivity, light, and love that she radiates,” they shared.
Candice’s battle with cancer began in March when she started feeling unwell. After numerous visits to doctors, specialists, and emergency rooms, she received the devastating diagnosis of stage 4 bladder cancer, which had spread to her bones.
Despite the grim prognosis, Candice approached her treatment with unwavering strength and courage. She moved to a new apartment better suited for her and her children, allowing her to spend precious moments at home surrounded by love.
In November, Candice was transferred to Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto, where she underwent aggressive treatment. Even during her most challenging days, she remained a source of light, brightening hospital rooms with her radiant smile and inspiring everyone around her.
