The Carson High School campus was placed under lockdown for about an hour on Friday afternoon due to an unsubstantiated claim that a firearm was present on campus grounds.
Lockdown procedures were implemented at the school at approximately 12:15 p.m. on May 3, following a student’s claim that they had seen a weapon on campus. However, the school district stated that no weapon was discovered and that the location is safe.
During the course of the inquiry, the Carson City Sheriff’s Office provided assistance and decided that the school is safe. The school has resumed its regular operations, and pupils will be released at the scheduled time.
