Cerritos High School Lockdown: There have been ongoing news of compulsory lockdown at the Cerritos High School. It was also stated that this was due to a shooting threat alarmed either by the students or the school authorities itself.

It is not only the students’ efforts to excel in class in order to receive good grades that set them apart from their colleagues; it is also their efforts to earn the recognition and respect of both their classmates and their teachers.
This is what makes students stand out among their peers. Every year, each teacher at Cerritos High School selects approximately five of their “best” pupils to be honored at the Cerritos High School Premio de Oro ceremony.
These kids are then presented with awards. Every nominee receives a Premio de Oro certificate, but each teacher chooses one student in particular (from among those who were nominated) who has truly distinguished themselves over the course of the previous year and then wears a Premio de Oro medallion around his or her neck on stage.
The few kids who are honored with a medal have made a genuine impact on both their teacher and the class, and this is a moment that is both emotional and sentimental for both the teachers and the students.
It is possible that the criteria for selection will differ from one instructor to the next; however, the selection process should indicate exceptional performance in the classroom. When making their picks, teachers have taken into account factors such as grades, participation, integrity, portrayal of leadership positions, excitement for the subject matter, and overall contribution to the class.
