Chance Stone Coldspring, TX, ACE/Gaffey skilled Welder-Fabricator died in car accident

Chance Stone Death – The community of Coldspring is mourning the tragic loss of Chance Stone, a skilled welder-fabricator, who passed away in a fatal car accident on January 9, 2025.

The incident has left family, friends, and colleagues devastated, as they remember a young man dedicated to his craft, his loved ones, and his community.

Chance, who worked at ACE/Gaffey as a welder-fabricator since June 2019, was well-regarded for his commitment to his profession and the positive relationships he cultivated with those around him. Known for his strong work ethic and problem-solving abilities, he was a valued member of his team and a respected figure within his field.

Born and raised in Deer Park, Texas, Chance attended Deer Park High School, where his dedication and determination were evident even at an early age. He later moved to Coldspring, where he built his life and established his career. He was in a committed relationship with Meranda McAuliff, who, along with his family, is now grappling with the sudden and heartbreaking loss.

The Incident
Preliminary reports from the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) indicate that the accident occurred late in the evening on a rural stretch of road near Coldspring. Authorities believe that adverse weather conditions and limited visibility may have contributed to the crash. Chance was reportedly traveling alone at the time of the incident.

Emergency responders arrived promptly at the scene, but despite their efforts, Chance was pronounced dead. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident, including whether speed, road conditions, or other factors played a role.

The DPS has encouraged anyone with information regarding the crash to come forward to assist in their investigation.
