Connor Furtain Death: Second Los Osos High School student has died by suicide on Interstate 210, Jumper causes on freeway delay

Connor Furtain Death: The Rancho Cucamonga, California community has been struck with another unimaginable tragedy this week. Barely two weeks ago, a senior student at Los Osos High School took her own life on Interstate 210.

Authorities were called to the 210 Freeway following reports of a jumper. According to CHP, an individual died by suicide at the “Foothill Freeway” (A major freeway in Los Angeles metropolitan).

The jumper was identified as a Californian teenager and student at Los Osos High School, Connor Furtain. According to reports, Furtain’s death is coming less than 20 days after a cheerleader and AGT contestant passed away at the same freeway.

Multiple departments in Los Angeles County are responding to the scene of a personal incident on the freeway. The Chaffey Joint Union High School District and Los Osos High School have not released any official statement following the recent death of their students. This is a developing story.

AGT Emily Gold Death Story
Emily Gold, captain of the varsity dance team at Los Osos High School in Rancho Cucamonga, has passed away. Gold, 17, committed suicide Friday night, only months after appearing on “America’s Got Talent” with her team.

Friends and loved ones characterized her as gorgeous, compassionate, caring, and a strong leader. The high school senior was also on the varsity cheerleading squad. In one of her final Instagram posts, Gold stated that performing on “AGT” was “the most incredible experience.” She also congratulated her high school team for being the best family she could have asked for.

According to Rancho Cucamonga police, Gold was found dead on the eastbound 210 Freeway at Haven Avenue, and the investigation is still underway. Los Osos High School has made grief counselors available to help students and staff. “Emily was a cherished member of the Los Osos High School campus and was beloved by her fellow students and teachers,” the Chaffey Joint Union High School District administrator stated.

Gold’s death occurred during National Suicide Prevention Month. A suicide and crisis hotline is provided 24 hours a day to anyone in need of assistance and can be accessed at 988.
