According to reports, a Waterloo police officer observed a car speeding in the area shortly before it was discovered at the scene of the crash. When officers arrived, they found the wreckage of the vehicle, which had sustained severe damage. Crawford Bryant, who was a passenger in the car, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash also involved three other students from Columbia High School, all of whom were immediately transported to the hospital. One of the students remains in critical condition, fighting for their life.

The news of Bryant’s death has left the community heartbroken.
