David ‘Dave’ Rosenthal Spotswood NJ Death – David “Dave” Rosenthal, a dedicated supervisor, loving family member, and sports enthusiast, passed away at the age of 64 on January 21, 2025.
A lifelong resident of New Jersey, Dave was born in the Bronx, but grew up in North Brunswick and graduated from North Brunswick High School in 1978. He later made his home in Spotswood, where he had resided for several years.
Throughout his life, Dave was deeply involved in sports, particularly with Rutgers University. As a former Game Day-Event Staff Supervisor at Rutgers, he had the privilege of being close to the action of college sports, contributing to the excitement of game days and large events. His enthusiasm for Rutgers athletics was well-known, and he carried that passion with him wherever he went.
Beyond his love of sports, Dave was a dedicated and hardworking individual who made a lasting impact on his community. He worked as a Supervisor for Middlesex County Parks and Recreation, where his efforts helped improve local parks and recreational spaces for the residents of the area. His dedication to his work was matched only by his commitment to his family and friends.
Dave’s greatest joy came from spending time with his loved ones. He held the title of “Papa” with pride and affection, cherishing every moment spent with his grandchildren, Emersyn, Nova, Leilani, Phoebe, and Jamie.
In addition to his immediate family, Dave shared a special bond with his companion Patty Reisert and her children, Melissa, Ashley, and Amber, as well as his sister Lisa Orban and her family. He also remained close with extended family members in the Ciarrocchi, Strouse, Murphy, Wilson, Orban, and Hayden families.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Dave’s life will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at 7:00 pm at the New Brunswick Performing Arts Center, located at 11 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick.
Attendees are encouraged to wear Rutgers attire or the colors of their favorite sports team as a tribute to Dave’s love of athletics. The Crabiel Home for Funerals in Milltown is handling the arrangements, and friends and family are invited to sign the online guestbook at www.crabiel.com.
Dave’s legacy as a devoted supervisor, family man, and sports fan will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be dearly missed, but his memory will continue to inspire and bring joy to those who were touched by his warmth and kindness.
