Antonio Caprara of Toms River, New Jersey, has tragically died. On the Garden State Parkway, a motorcycle crash claimed the life of a Beachwood man. Friends remember Antonio for being selfless and having a golden heart.
Lenny Ritorto, 49, of Toms River, was riding an SSR dirt bike when Antonio Caprara, 26, of New Jersey State Police, died in a collision with his Kawasaki on Sunday. Ritorto was in the acceleration lane heading south on the Exit 81 entry ramp.
Officials revealed that he was a former South Toms River police officer. His full-time status was announced on the South Toms River Police Department’s Facebook page in 2023, after he was sworn in in 2022. According to Chief Michael Schneidt, he hasn’t worked for the department since May. He didn’t go into detail.
According to state police, Caprara and Ritorto were both thrown from their motorcycles. Ritorto is hospitalized after suffering critical injuries, according to the police. His funeral plans and obituary will be announced by his family at a later date.
