Bryan Kunic, Laura Sue Jett Death:- Two people died following a deadly surf incident that happened on Monday on Oahu’s North Shore.
The victims however, were identified as 62-year-old Bryan Kunic of Hollister, California and 72-year-old Laura Sue Jett of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Tragic Surf Incident on Oahu’s North Shore
The Medical Examiner has identified two victims who died after being rescued from rough surf at Ke Iki Beach on Oahu’s North Shore. The victims are 62-year-old Bryan Kunic from Hollister, California, and 72-year-old Laura Sue Jett from Oklahoma City. An official cause of death is still pending.
The incident occurred on Monday morning as lifeguards were preparing for the day amid increasing surf conditions of six to eight feet. They noticed three individuals in distress and quickly responded. While all three were brought back to shore, Kunic was pronounced dead at the scene. Jett, in critical condition, later died at the hospital.
A third swimmer, a 41-year-old woman from Oklahoma, was reported to be awake and alert upon rescue and is currently hospitalized in serious condition. Further details regarding the incident remain undisclosed.
