Chelsea Milledge Death – A tragic shooting on Holloway Avenue in Albany, Georgia, claimed the life of 33-year-old Chelsea Milledge, leaving her family and the community in mourning.
The incident occurred at a residence on the 900 block, where police say several children were present at the time of the shooting. Fortunately, the children were physically unharmed during the ordeal.
Authorities have arrested and charged 21-year-old Eugene Barber in connection with the shooting. Barber faces charges of Murder, Home Invasion in the First Degree, and Possession of a Firearm During Certain Crimes. Investigators have not yet disclosed details about the relationship between Milledge and Barber or the events leading up to the shooting.
Chelsea Milledge was rushed to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, where surgeons worked to save her life. Tragically, despite their efforts, she succumbed to her injuries on Thursday morning, January 23.
The community has expressed its shock and sadness over the loss of Milledge, who was described by friends and neighbors as a devoted mother and a kind-hearted individual. Albany Police Chief Michael Persley commended the bravery of the officers who responded to the scene and emphasized the department’s commitment to seeking justice for Milledge and her family.
