Boonton High School Vice President Edward Forman has sadly passed away. He died on Tuesday 3rd September 2024 leaving those who knew him devastated. He was confirmed dead through a Facebook post that reads:
“Yesterday, our Boonton High School community received devastating news that our beloved Vice Principal, Mr. Edward Forman, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in the morning.” The actual cause of Edward Forman’s death has not been released.
Edward Forman, a respected educator and leader, has left behind a legacy marked by dedication, hard work, and a passion for lifelong learning. Edward’s journey from a student to a valued educational administrator is a testament to his commitment to personal growth and community service.
Edward Forman’s academic journey began at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Economics in 1991. This foundational education set the stage for his future endeavors, combining a solid understanding of economic principles with a deepening interest in educational leadership.
Building on his undergraduate experience, Edward pursued further studies at the University of Scranton, where he obtained a Master of Education (MEd) in Educational Leadership and Administration in 2006.
His decision to shift focus from economics to educational leadership was driven by a desire to impact young lives and contribute to the field of education.
Edward’s professional career began in the financial sector, where he worked as a Clerk at Instinet Incorporated in New York from November 1992 to August 1996. His role there, spanning nearly four years, provided him with valuable experience in a fast-paced environment.
He then transitioned to the role of Assistant Trader at Bank of America, where he worked for over five years, from August 1996 to December 2001. This role honed his analytical skills and ability to handle complex tasks under pressure.
In February 2002, Edward embarked on a new path in education with the NYC Department of Education. Over the next nine years and seven months, he served as a Teacher and Dean, roles that allowed him to connect with students and shape their educational experiences. His time in these positions demonstrated his commitment to education and his ability to foster a positive learning environment.
Edward’s move to Boonton High School in August 2011 marked a significant chapter in his career. Initially serving as the Dean of Programs and Students, he quickly made an impact through his dedicated approach to student development and program management. His effective leadership in this role led to his promotion to Vice Principal in June 2013. As Vice Principal, Edward continued to excel, applying his extensive experience and educational insights to enhance the school’s programs and support its students and staff.
Edward’s tenure at Boonton High School was characterized by his unwavering dedication and his ability to inspire those around him. His leadership was marked by a genuine commitment to the well-being and success of the students, as well as a collaborative approach to working with faculty and staff.
