Jeff Cassidy has passed away suddenly He was announced dead on Sunday in a social media publication by Sauble Speedway, paying tribute to him. The post said:
“It is with extremely heavy hearts that we have to make this announcement, over the weekend Jeff Cassidy one of the co-owners of Sauble Speedway passed away. We ask that everyone respects the families privacy at this time.”
Jeff Cassidy, leaving behind his family, friends and loved ones who will always miss him devastated by his sudden death. He will always be missed by all those who had the privilege of meeting him during the course of his life.
The general public is urged t keep the whole family of Jeff Cassidy in their thoughts and prayers as they navigate through this sad and difficult time of grief.
About Sauble Speedway
Situated in Hepworth, Ontario, Canada, to the east of the coastal resort Sauble coastal, Sauble Speedway is a 1/4-mile short track motor racing oval. In addition to additional Sunday night races on long weekends, the circuit provides a weekly Saturday night stock car racing program from June through September.
Before the 1971 season got underway, the 1/4-mile dirt track that had begun in 1969 was paved. Junior Late Models, Combined 4’s for four-cylinder cars, and United 8’s for eight-cylinder late model cars are the featured races on the track’s weekly racing schedule.
APC United Late Model Series, Ontario Sportsman Series, OSCAAR Modifieds, Hot Rods and Pro Sprints, Ontario Outlaw Super Late Model Series, Can-Am Midgets, and INEX Legend Cars are among the touring series that frequently visit the track.
Paul and Lia Gresel, local business owners, bought the track in 2017. In 2018, the facility was sanctioned by NASCAR and became a member of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series. Jeff and Tina Cassidy joined the speedway as partners in 2021. John Karley was appointed General Manager in 2022. In October 2023, Brad Holmes was appointed General Manager.
