Maisha Coon Death – A horrifying chain of events unfolded early Wednesday in Bensalem Township when a man allegedly killed his girlfriend and later targeted her family and law enforcement.
Orenthia Upshur, 51, of Trenton, New Jersey, is accused of fatally shooting his girlfriend, 49-year-old Maisha Coon, during an argument at the Sleep Inn & Suites on Street Road.
Following the incident, Upshur fled to Trenton, where he reportedly sought out one of Coon’s family members and opened fire. Thankfully, no injuries were reported during this encounter. Later, in a dramatic standoff with police, Upshur fired shots at officers, who managed to apprehend him without sustaining injuries.
Authorities have charged Upshur with murder, attempted murder, and aggravated assault. In addition to facing legal proceedings in New Jersey for the incidents in Trenton, he will be extradited to Bucks County to face charges related to the killing of Maisha Coon.
