Reven Newbound Owensville MO Death – Osage County Sheriff Michael Bonham reports that a father and daughter perished in a watercraft accident on the Gasconade River close to Pointers Creek on Sunday night.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol collision report, the 20220 Gatorboat was carrying seven occupants when it crashed on Sunday night at 7 p.m. in Osage County along the Gasconade River.
A 2002 Gatorboat owned by Owensville resident Reven Newbound, 30, was heading upstream when it struck a root wad and slammed into a rock cliff. The report stated that Newbound and a 7-year-old Owensville child perished.
Samantha Newbound, 29, of Owensville, and her three children—a baby boy, a 4-year-old girl, and a 9-year-old girl—were among the four other people who suffered critical injuries.
When the incident occurred, all of the children were reportedly wearing life jackets, but none of the parents were. Bland resident Taylor McClure, 21, was given on-the-spot medical attention for minor wounds.
Every crash victim was transported to University Hospital. The Water Division of the Missouri State Highway Patrol is presently looking into the accident’s circumstances to ascertain what caused this regrettable incident.
