Scott Collins Death – A tragic accident on Friday, October 11, claimed the life of 60-year-old Scott M. Collins, a Fulton resident, following a collision between his gas-powered bicycle and a delivery van.
The incident occurred at the intersection of I-481 and Route 3.
According to Fulton Police, officers responded to the scene after receiving reports of a collision involving a motorized bicycle. Collins had struck the side of a delivery van while traveling east on Route 3.
Initial assessments suggested he had sustained only leg and head injuries. However, once transported to the hospital, medical professionals discovered more serious internal injuries, and Collins later died from those injuries.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the van, traveling north on State Route 481, had the right of way with a green light. Collins, on his bicycle, passed through the intersection against a red light, leading to the collision. Police stated that no drug or alcohol involvement was suspected, and no tickets are expected to be issued.
