Dr. Barbara Campbell Death – We are deeply saddened to inform you of the demise of Dr. Barbara Campbell, a magnificent woman who devoted her whole life to developing religious education on all levels, including the parish, the diocesan, and the national level.
As a result of Barbara’s unwavering dedication to faith-based education and her contributions to the spiritual growth of many persons, she has left behind an enduring legacy that will continue to inspire future generations.
The culmination of Barbara’s illustrious career was her position as Vice President of Loyola Press, which she served with a great deal of enthusiasm and dedication during her whole career. She and her devoted husband, James, collaborated on the development of a curriculum program called “Finding God: Our Response to God’s Gifts.”
This program is possibly the clearest example of her influence on the field of religious education. This curriculum has had a profound impact on the lives of a great number of students, assisting them in the development of a more profound understanding of their faith and giving them direction on their spiritual journeys.
The job that Barbara did was not only a reflection of her personal devotion to her faith and community, but it was also a professional calling for her. All those who had the honour of working with her were able to experience her warmth, wisdom, and generosity, and she will be remembered for the enormous impact she had on the field of Catholic education.
Each and every one of those who knew and loved her, including her husband James, her family, and her friends, are in our thoughts and prayers. The legacy of religion and service that Barbara leaves behind is one that I pray will provide you some measure of consolation during this trying time.
