The incident occurred on Friday evening, just before 7 p.m., near a medical facility located on Topanga Canyon Boulevard. The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) has since launched a full-scale investigation to apprehend the suspect responsible for this heinous act.
Dr. Mirshojae, a well-respected doctor in the community, was walking toward an SUV—owned by another doctor at the clinic—when the suspect approached him and opened fire.
The physician was found near the driver’s side of the white SUV, lying in the parking lot of the Woodland Hills Medical Clinic and Urgent Care. Several bullet casings were discovered at the scene, painting a grim picture of the violence that unfolded.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, leaving colleagues, patients, and the community in shock. Dr. Azin Kolahi, a physician from a neighboring medical practice, expressed her grief during an interview with ABC7. “I just saw him two days ago in the morning,” she said, her voice thick with emotion. “He always had laughter on his face. Very kind, very sweet.”
Dr. Mirshojae’s sudden and violent death has sent ripples through the Woodland Hills community, especially among his colleagues who describe him as a warm and caring individual. Dr. Kolahi’s words reflect the deep sense of loss felt by those who knew him.
“It’s hard to get a message like that early in the morning,” she added, recalling the moment she was informed of his passing. “We always hear it but it doesn’t pertain to you. When you know someone, it hits home.”
As of now, the LAPD has not released a description of the suspect, who reportedly fled the scene on foot. The motive behind the shooting remains unclear, but authorities are treating the case as a homicide. The investigation is ongoing, with detectives working tirelessly to gather evidence and track down the perpetrator.
