It is thought that over 370 people have died there since work on it started in 1887. The oddest deaths connected to the Eiffel Tower have been documented, ranging from suicides to accidents, tests of planes and parachutes, and lost bets. As an illustration:
Unknown reasons led a mechanic to hang himself in 1891; he was discovered, still nude, in the early hours of the morning, hanging in the north pillar. When a testament was discovered, Gustave Eiffel was left the entire contents of his worldly goods. All he had was his clothes, neatly arranged by where he was hanging.
The Bird Man fell to his death in 1912 while experimenting with a flying, gliding, landing, and parasailing device. He passed away from a heart attack before he even hit the ground, according to the autopsy.

A young lady threw herself from the second story in 2009 and fell on the restaurant’s second-floor terrace. Some patrons allegedly ignored the gravity of the situation and carried on silently consuming their food. The total annual number of suicide attempts at the Eiffel Tower is approximately 10.
