Eric Gilliland NY Death – American television producer, writer, actor and whistler from New York, Eric Gilliland, passed away on Sunday, September 1.
He had been battling Stage Four Colon Cancer for the last three years old. He was described as a a kind, funny and gentle soul. Eric was a expert game player, champion whistler, brilliant writer, and iconic raconteur.
About Eric Gilliland
Eric Gilliland was born and raised in Glenview, Illinois, United States. He completed his secondary education at Glenbrook South High School in 1980 and Northwestern University School of Communication in 1984.
Gilliland was an accomplished whistler. As well as being on a number of Sumack albums, his whistling has also been featured on the music for an episode of Penn & Teller: Bullshit!, as well as on Sam Winch’s album The Lullabadeer.
In addition, he contributed whistling accompaniment to Martha Plimpton’s rendition of Thunder Road, which was broadcast on Studio 360 of National Public Radio.
