Fatal Airplane Crash – Gene Simeon Walker Jr and James Patrick Walker killed as victims killed
The Texas Department of Public Safety has officially identified the two men who died in a plane crash reported about 22 miles east of Laredo.
Authorities identified them on Tuesday afternoon as Gene Simeon Walker Jr., 66, and James Patrick Walker, 63.
The incident was reported at about 2:40 p.m. Jan. 29 near Ranchitos Las Lomas, about 2 to 3 miles south of the entrance of Walker Ranch.
The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating what led to the crash of the experimental Air Cam airplane.
A description by the Federal Aviation Administration states that the “aircraft struck tower guy-wires and crashed ending up inverted.”
NTSB investigators will document the scene and examine the aircraft, which will then be recovered to a secure facility for further evaluation. Three primary areas of the investigations will be the pilot, the aircraft and the operating environment, officials said.
“Witnesses to the accident or those who have surveillance video or other information that could be relevant to the investigation are asked to contact the NTSB at witness@ntsb.gov,” the NTSB said.
A preliminary report containing factual information gathered during the initial stages of the investigation is expected to be released within 30 days. The investigation continues.
In the wake of this Fatal Airplane Crash, we extend our deepest condolences to the families affected by this heart-wrenching loss. As they grapple with the indescribable pain of bidding farewell to their loved ones, we share in their sorrow and stand in solidarity during this time of profound grief.
