Fatal Car Accident Albuquerque Today – Multiple law enforcement agencies are currently investigating a tragic accident that happened today, Wednesday, the 19th of June 2024 on Interstate 25 (I-25) North of Albuquerque.
A huge/strong windstorm reportedly caused the crash. According to reports, several vehicles were involved in the crash. The crash occurred near Algodones between Santa Fe and Albuquerque, New Mexico. No further information was mentioned.
“We had a huge wind storm, which can be rather bad here in the southwest. Wind storms here are like snow storms in ND in a sense, they create very low to no visibility. Then a downpour of rain with thunder added to the mix. So many cars and trucks were involved in this pile-up. Sadly, people drive anywhere from 85 to well over 100 miles an hour on this interstate.”
In the photo above, most of the dust had settled, but the people involved in the pile-up drove into it blindly, suddenly crashing into other cars without seeing them.
Albuquerque, New Mexico’s largest city, sits in the high desert. Its modern Downtown core contrasts with Old Town Albuquerque, dating to the city’s 1706 founding as a Spanish colony.
Old Town is filled with historic adobe buildings, such as San Felipe de Neri Church, 5 museums, and shops selling Native American handicrafts. Nearby, The Indian Pueblo Cultural Center traces the area’s tribal history.
