Isabellas Amor-Carlos Death – In a devastating incident that has shocked the Dayton community, a 12-year-old girl lost her life after being struck by gunfire while she slept in her bed.

The tragic event occurred around 1 a.m. on Friday, August 23, in the 30 block of West Fairview Avenue, as confirmed by the Dayton Police Department.

The victim, identified by the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office as Isabellas Amor-Carlos, was an innocent bystander caught in a deadly exchange of gunfire that erupted just outside her home.

Isabellas, a bright and cherished seventh-grade student at Charity Adams Earley Girls Academy, had been a member of the school community since preschool. Her untimely death has left a profound void in the hearts of those who knew her.

Dayton Public Schools Superintendent Dr. David Lawrence expressed the deep sorrow felt by the entire district in a statement released following the incident. “The Dayton Public School District is deeply saddened by the loss of one of our students, a seventh grader at Charity Adams Earley Girls Academy. Isabellas was an important and beloved member of our school community, and she will be greatly missed by both staff and students. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family during this incredibly difficult time.”

The shooting has also left the local community on edge, as it is a stark reminder of the gun violence that continues to plague neighborhoods across the nation. According to police reports, the gunfire not only claimed the life of young Isabellas but also damaged several homes in the vicinity. Investigators recovered over 30 shell casings from the roadway and two nearby residences, indicating a violent and chaotic scene.
