Jack Yetter St Charles IL Death – Illinois Swimming Coach Jack Yetter of St. Charles, Illinois has sadly passed away. He died on Monday 2nd September 2024 at the age of 53 leaving those who knew him in shock and disbelief.
He was announced dead through a Facebook post that reads “It is with a heavy heart that we need to let you know that Jack Yetter passed away on Monday September 2, 2024. Jack was a great friend and a huge part of Saint Charles Swimming & Illinois Swimming on and off the deck.”
Jack Yetter was born on August 4, 1971, in Park Ridge, Illinois, to Duane and Marilyn Yetter. The youngest of three children, Jack grew up in a family that valued hard work and community involvement. His parents instilled in him the principles of dedication and perseverance, values that would come to define his personal and professional life.
Professionally, Jack was a distinguished attorney with a notable career in higher education. He served as the Director of Privacy at Northern Illinois University, where he was responsible for overseeing the university’s privacy policies and ensuring compliance with various regulations.
His meticulous attention to detail and commitment to safeguarding personal information were critical in maintaining the trust and integrity of the institution. Jack’s role at the university was a testament to his dedication to upholding the highest standards of privacy and legal responsibility.
Outside of his professional achievements, Jack’s passion for swimming was a defining feature of his life. His journey in the sport began at the tender age of five, when he first took to the water and discovered his love for swimming.
Over the years, Jack honed his skills and competed at various levels, demonstrating remarkable talent and determination. His dedication to swimming was not limited to his own competitive career; he extended his commitment to the sport through numerous roles.
After concluding his competitive swimming career, Jack transitioned into roles that allowed him to give back to the sport that had given him so much. He became a coach, sharing his expertise and enthusiasm with young swimmers and helping to develop the next generation of talent.
Jack’s influence was felt not only in the pool but also on the deck, where he served as an official, ensuring that swim meets were conducted fairly and in accordance with the rules.
Jack was an integral part of several key organizations within the swimming community. His contributions to USA Swimming, Illinois Swimming, and St. Charles Aquatics were profound. He worked tirelessly to promote the growth of the sport, advocating for better facilities, more opportunities for young swimmers, and the overall development of the swimming community.
He is survived by his wife Julie and their two children, Sean and Molly; additionally, he is survived by his two sisters, Catherine Read and Ann Burns, and his brother Andrew. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jeffry. Memorial visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the Yurs Funeral Home St. Charles. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home.
