Jacob Rush Accident: Spartanburg, SC man injured in last week motorcycle crash has died

Jacob Rush Accident: A Toronto, Ohio dog lover and resident of Spartanburg, South Carolina has tragically passed away. Jacob Rush died on Wednesday from complications of a motorcycle crash last week.

The accident happened on Friday, September 26, 2024. According to reports, Rush was rushed to the hospital after his motorcycle struck a vehicle, throwing him on the express.

Law enforcement agencies responded to the scene where Jacon was located and sent to the hospital in critical condition. He was placed on life support for six days. Jacob was confirmed dead on Wednesday morning, October 2, 2024.

In another South Carolina Crash, a Lexington man was killed by an adolescent motorcycle after checking his mail, according to the coroner. According to the Lexington County Coroner’s Office, a 17-year-old biker struck and killed a man who had crossed the road to check his mail. The biker, James Leonard Ely III of Lexington, was also killed in the incident, which occurred Tuesday around 10 p.m.

Kevin Scott Collins, 63, also of Lexington, was crossing the roadway in the 200 block of Kyzer Road after checking his mailbox. Ely was riding his motorbike west on Kyzer Road, according to a coroner’s office news release.

The coroner’s office stated that Ely had a passenger on the motorbike who was sent to a local hospital with minor injuries. Ely was also wearing a helmet at the time of the collision, according to the Lexington County coroner. Both males were pronounced deceased at the scene of the incident. According to a news release from the coroner’s office, the South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
