Janie Grace Moss Death:- Goodpasture cross country runner Janie Grace Moss passed away Wednesday morning due to complications following her collapse during a run. The cause of Moss’s death has not yet been disclosed.
Goodpasture announced her death on social media, and athletic director Jim Carter confirmed it to The Tennessean. Moss collapsed during a run at Wright Park on Sunday.
She was airlifted to Centennial Hospital, where she suffered from cerebral edema (brain swelling) and was placed on life support, according to the fundraiser. A senior, Moss was also part of Goodpasture’s cheer and swim teams. A prayer vigil was held for her on Monday at Goodpasture’s W.F. Ruhl Arts Center.
“It is with great sadness we share that GCS senior Janie Grace Moss passed away this morning,” the Goodpasture athletic department stated on X, formerly Twitter. “We are incredibly grateful for the person she was. Her light shines and will continue to shine brightly. Please keep her family and the GCS community in your prayers.”
