Jennie Wiebe Obituary Kitchener ON: Mom and Daughter Zoe Wiebe Died in Car Accident Kitchener, West of Dundalk

Jennie Wiebe Obituary – A Kitchener, Ontario mother and daughter have been identified as the victims who passed away in a fatal car accident in Kitchener on Monday, January 28, 2025.

Ontario Provincial Police say 49-year-old Jennie Wiebe and her daughter 15-year-old Zoe Wiebe died in the crash that happened near Dundalk Monday morning.

Grey Bruce OPP said they are investigating a collision between a commercial motor vehicle and a passenger vehicle that resulted in the deaths of the two Kitchener residents. Jennie’s 19-year-old son Josh Wiebe sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital.

Police reported that the two deceased individuals and the 19-year-old who sustained serious injuries were the occupants of the passenger vehicle. The driver of the commercial vehicle was treated at the scene for potential minor injuries.

Functional Medicine Uptown released the following details following the double deaths.
“It is with deep sadness that we share the heartbreaking passing of our dear friend and colleague, Jennie Wiebe, and her beloved daughter, Zoe. Jennie was a bright light in our FMU family—her kindness, wisdom, and warmth rippled far beyond our office and into the lives of so many.

She had a way of making everyone feel seen, heard, and cared for, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. We hold Jennie and Zoe in our hearts and honour the profound impact they had on all of us.

Our thoughts are with Jennie’s family, friends, clients, and all who loved them during this unimaginable time. All of us at FMU are sending love to those who are grieving this profound loss If you feel called to share a memory of Jennie, we would love to hear and remember her together.”

Jennie Wiebe was an adorable mother, wife, and a CranioSacral Practitioner, Reiki Master at Functional Medicine Uptown in Waterloo. Her daughter Zoe was a 10th student at Rockwave Mennonite Collegiate. The collision occurred at the intersection of Grey Road 9 and Southgate Sideroad 71 in Southgate, west of Dundalk. The intersection was temporarily closed during the initial investigation but has since reopened.

Members of the OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) team responded to the scene to assist with the investigation. Grey Bruce OPP officers were first on the scene, along with the Dundalk Fire Department and Dufferin County Paramedic Service.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Grey Bruce OPP. Authorities are urging anyone with information, including dashcam footage from the area at the time of the collision, to come forward.

One of our founding members, Jennie Wiebe, was killed in a tragic accident yesterday morning, along with her 15 year old daughter Zoe. Her son Josh, survived the crash and our deepest thoughts and prayers go out to Josh, Colin, Jennie & Colin’s oldest child, Nat, her mom Mary and the rest of Jennie’s family and friends. Jennie was a rock in our choir – a beautiful soul that felt music deeply. We share this photo she took not long after we premiered “Following the Moonroad” as we grieve the huge hole she has left in our community.
