Jesse Cervantes of West Jordan died after suffering a heart attack during Saturday’s game. He was 37 years old. Wednesday night the team and more than a hundred friends and family members gathered to Jesse Cervantes.
Jesse Cervantes devoted his entire being to coaching the youth lacrosse team that his son Alfie was a part of. He treasured every second that he was able to spend spending time on the pitch with the feisty attack player who was just eight years old.
Whenever Jesse went somewhere, his wife, Brittany Cervantes, would frequently comment on his vivacious attitude, which appeared to attract everyone’s attention and create an environment that was kind and inviting.
Jesse thought of coaching as more than simply a pastime; it was a means for him to pass on his enthusiasm for the sport that he had participated in while he was a student at Alta High School.
