Joee Cons Toronto ON Death – Popular Canadian DJ and Producer Joee Cons of Toronto, Ontario has sadly passed away. He died on Thursday 20th June 2024. He was confirmed dead through a Facebook post that reads:
“Last night we lost Joee Cons, someone who’s been an integral cornerstone to Toronto’s dance music community for ages. I shed my tears at work earlier today, but couldn’t sit back and not acknowledge the mark this man has made on Toronto’s nightlife community for so many years.”
Who was Joee Cons?
Joee Cons was a renowned DJ, producer, and remixer who embarked on his musical journey in Toronto, Canada. Forming an electronic group early in his career, he began recording house and techno music inspired by the vibrant dance scenes of New York, Chicago, Detroit, and London.
Fascinated by the energy generated when two tracks were seamlessly blended, mixing records quickly became his passion, and he started DJing at clubs, underground parties, and infamous raves.
Joee’s debut single, “Get Funkee,” was a major success, reaching the Top 10 on the Canadian Dance Chart. The track was signed to Strictly Rhythm’s Groovilicious label and was included in compilations across Canada, the USA, and Japan.
In 2006, Joee remixed Carlo Lio’s “Everybody,” which received support from Carl Cox. This success led to numerous other productions, including the single “Don’t Stop,” which was featured on Canada’s Finest House Compilation.
Joee Cons Career
Joee’s unique style and energetic performances have taken him to shows across Canada, the US, Mexico, and Costa Rica. He held notable residencies at prestigious venues such as The Guvernment, Comfort Zone, Coda, Nest, Cabana, Vertigo, Toybox, Noir, and Circus Montreal.
He has shared the stage with industry heavyweights like Danny Tenaglia, Mark Knight, Chus & Ceballos, Deadmau5, Joris Voorn, Steve Lawler, Roger Sanchez, Erick Morillo, Dubfire, Technasia, and Eli Brown, among others.
In 2010, his techno track “In The Dark” peaked on the Beatport Top 100 chart. Following this, “Automatik” and “Uno Dos Tres” reached the Top 10 on Nowtrax Asia. In 2012, his “Cat Got Your Tongue/Hold Yourself” EP on Incorrect climbed to the Top 5 on Beatport’s Tech House Top 100 Releases Chart. His single “Down The Drain” became a standout track during the Winter Music Conference (WMC), gaining substantial support from Chus & Ceballos and reaching the Top 30 on Beatport’s Top 100 Tech House Chart. His remixes of Chris Vench and Jeff Mason’s “If You Wanna” and Alex Sandrino’s “OK” also became bestsellers on their respective labels.
