John Kamarer, Camp Hill, PA, Railroad Engineer and Marine Veteran has died

John Kamarer Obituary – On September 23, 2024, John P. “Chooch” Kamarer, 67, of Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, had his passing. Born in Harrisburg, on February 2, 1957, he was the son of late James and Wihelmena ( Steward) Kamarer.

Renowned railroad engineer and Marine veteran John was known for his contagious energy. Across the transport sector, his commitment to his work at Conrail and Norfolk Southern won him respect. Reflecting his entrepreneurial energy and relentless work ethic, John also proudly owned businesses.

John’s chosen activities clearly revealed his zest for life. Whether he was celebrating a Redskins victory, riding on his Harley, or sipping a Coors Light at the local VFW or Legion, his enthusiasm and passion stayed with those around him.

Known as “Mixer,” he developed his vivid personality and excellent people-connecting abilities while working at Pennsy Supply. John was clearly passionate about sports, particularly Penn State football, and many could sense his friendship.

He leaves behind a loving family and a legacy of dedication and loyalty. Survived by his loyal friend Sally Osborne; son Shea Kamarer; daughters Jenna Kamarer and Janelle Browand; eight grandkids Lily Kamarer, Alexus Browand, Isabella Bixler, Maverick Browand, Sophia Bixler, Cashtyn Cariaga, Maddox Cariaga, and Mila Cariaga. Three brothers: Paul, Ronald, and Richard Kamarer all survive him. His son Kiley Bixler preceded John in death.

Monday, September 30, 2024 will see a visitation at Parthemore Funeral Home from 11:30 AM until the funeral starts at 12:30 PM. Interment under Pastor Manuel Valentin will take place at Rolling Green Cemetery. In honour of his honourable service, the family recommends contributions to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
