Kassandra Lozano Laredo TX Obituary, Death – Woman died in devastating Texas 20 Loop accident
Kassandra Lozano Laredo TX Obituary – A devastating accident on Loop 20 resulted in the loss of one life and left multiple individuals injured, with two of them requiring airlifting to a hospital in San Antonio on Monday 12th February 2024. The victim has been identified as Kassandra Lozano, 25, who was a passenger in a Chevy Corvette involved in the collision.
Laredo Police responded to the scene shortly after 3:30 a.m. to find a chaotic scene of a multiple-car accident on the active Loop. A white Silverado Truck was found overturned in the southbound lanes of Loop, adjacent to a small pond near the Casa Blanca Golf Course. Initial investigations revealed that the truck had collided with the curbside at high speed, striking a pole before flipping over onto the roadway.
As authorities began their investigation, the situation took an unexpected and tragic turn. Two Samaritans, a male and a female, arrived at the scene shortly after the initial accident. Their intention was to assist the injured and help control traffic. However, moments later, a dark-colored Corvette crashed into them and the overturned truck with significant force, causing further devastation.
Both Samaritans sustained injuries from the impact, with the male Samaritan and the Corvette driver being airlifted to a hospital in San Antonio due to the severity of their injuries. Tragically, the female Samaritan, who was a nurse by profession, lost her life in the collision.
The accident prompted authorities to reroute traffic from 4 a.m. to 11 a.m. while investigations were conducted. The names of the injured and deceased have not yet been disclosed, and law enforcement has not provided an official cause for the accident. Toxicology reports on the drivers have been obtained as part of the ongoing investigation by the Laredo Police Department.
Ms. Lozano is survived by her parents, Adalberto and Carolina Lozano; brother Adalberto Lozano Jr and Alessandra Lozano; as well as other family members and friends that will greatly miss her. The family will be receiving guests on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 in the Angelus Chapel at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Cremation will be held at a later date.
