Kathy Condie Hilton Head Island SC Death – A devastating fire on December 3, 2024, in the Victoria Square neighborhood claimed the lives of Kathy Condie, the mother of Tyler Love, and the couple’s beloved dog Hudson.

Lifelong Lowcountry residents Kate Boardman and Tyler Love lost their home, possessions, and a part of their family in the tragedy. Another family dog, Blue, miraculously survived the fire and was found safe.

Condie, a beloved mother and friend, leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness. Her passing, along with the loss of the family dog, has left a profound void in the lives of Boardman and Love.

What Happened?
Fire crews responded to the scene at Victoria Square Drive at 10:35 p.m., where they found the three-story home fully engulfed in flames, Hilton Head Island Fire Rescue reported. The fire also caused damage to two adjacent structures, though they remain habitable.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED), the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office, and Hilton Head Island Fire Rescue.

A GoFundMe page, organized by friend Kate McCullion, has raised over $80,000 of its updated $125,000 goal to help cover funeral expenses for Kathy Condie, transport her remains to North Carolina, and assist in rebuilding the lives of Boardman and Love.

“Nothing worse could happen to two better people. Any donation amount will go such a long way in helping my dear friends who are experiencing insurmountable pain and grief,” McCullion wrote on the fundraiser page.
