Kaysamual A. Blanks and Michael D. Fenner died in tragic two tractor-trailers collision in Randolph County
Two men were killed just east of Moberly late Monday night when two tractor-trailers collided in Randolph County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a westbound 2022 Kenworth, driven by 31-year-old Kaysamual A. Blanks of Rancho Cordova, Calif., was stopped, partially off the roadway, with the towed unit blocking both lanes of the 1600 block of US 24, just east of Moberly in Randolph County, just before midnight. Blanks was outside of his truck.
Published reports indicate that Blanks was attempting to turn his rig around when the deadly incident happened.
A westbound 2023 Freightliner, driven by 61-year-old Michael D,. Fenner of Jackson Michigan, then struck the towed unit of the Kenworth and Blanks.
Both drivers were pronounced dead at 11:57 p.m., by Randolph County Coroner Charles Peel. The bodies were taken to Pathway Millard Funeral Home in Moberly.
Both trucks were totaled and towed by Palmatory Towing (Moberly).
Randolph County Deputies, Eastern Fire Department and MoDOT personnel assisted the six Troopers on scene.
That section of the highway was closed until 5 p.m. Tuesday.
