Kevin Hines USPS Death – A tragic active shooter event at a U.S. Postal Service (USPS) facility in Missouri City on Monday night has left one employee dead and another arrested on suspicion of murder.

The Missouri City Police Department (MCPD) and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service (USPIS) responded to the scene of the shooting at a USPS processing facility along U.S. 90 East shortly before 10 p.m.

The victim has been identified as Kevin J. Hines, an employee at the facility. Derrick Deon Lott, another employee at the USPS facility, was apprehended at the scene and later charged with murder in connection to the death of Hines. Lott is currently in custody at the Fort Bend County Jail, with bond set at $2 million.

While the investigation is still in the preliminary stages, the USPIS confirmed that there is no further threat to the public. The facility was evacuated following the shooting, and authorities have stated that all employees have been accounted for. No additional injuries have been reported.

“The situation was contained quickly, and there is no danger to the community,” a USPIS spokesperson said. “Our thoughts are with the victim’s family and all those affected by this tragedy.”
