Leslie Elizama Vicente Missing – A statewide alert for a missing 19-year-old was canceled Thursday after officials confirmed that her body was found in a submerged vehicle in Weld County.
Leslie Elizama Vicente Vicente was reported missing after attending an event in Greeley on June 13. The Colorado Bureau of Investigation and Greeley Police issued a missing person alert the following Wednesday.
On Wednesday night, an employee at a Weld County gravel quarry called 911 after noticing signs that a vehicle had likely gone into a body of water near the quarry, located in the area of Highway 85 and Weld County Road 22.
Members of the Greeley Police Department, Fort Lupton Police Department, and dive teams from both cities’ fire departments responded to the scene. Dive team members recovered the body of the vehicle’s only occupant, who was later identified as Leslie Elizama Vicente Vicente.
The case remains open and under investigation by the Fort Lupton Police Department. No further information was available at the time of this report.
