Marlyn Burkett Car Accident – Wednesday night, authorities have identified a woman who passed away after being engaged in a collision with a driver who is suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol.
The collision took place on Wednesday evening in Columbia, South Carolina close to the intersection of Broad River Road and Lost Creek Drive.
Following the collision between two vehicles, Sydney Ezelle, who is 27 years old, was taken into custody and charged with felony driving under the influence-related death.
She is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol and speeding when she collided with the victim’s vehicle, as stated by the Columbia Police Department. Ezelle is still being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Centre while she waits for a bond hearing that will take place on Friday morning.
Irmo resident Marlyn L. Burkett, 58 years old, was recognized as the person who passed away as a result of the collision by the Richland County Coroner’s Office. The event is being investigated by both the coroner’s office and the Columbia Police Department.
