Matthew Sagarino Stoneham, MA Death: The adorable son of Stoneham, MA Town Clerk Maria Sagarino, Matthew, has died. the Stoneham High School Alumni and Coastal Carolina University student passed away unexpectedly last weekend.
Matthew was a graduating class of 2023 at the Stoneham High School. Matthew was an athletic student in high school. He played Lacrosse.
Until his death, Matt was a student at the Coastal Carolina University – A public research university in Conway, South Carolina.” His mother “Maria” is the current Stoneham, Massachusetts, Town Clerk. She took over from the former John Hanright after his death.

“Since his sudden passing last summer, I have spent a great deal of time focusing on the job that John loved so much. Having served as his assistant for several years, I’ve thought long and hard about how I can best continue to serve Stoneham, and running for Town Clerk is the best way I know to continue the great work John did for so many years,” Sagarino said in the statement.

Sagarino managed the Town Clerk and Elections & Registration departments while also focusing on important improvements and office duties.
Recently, she led the initiative to recertify the Town Clerk’s Office of Elections & Registration as a Passport Acceptance Facility, resulting in thousands of dollars in new revenue for the community. In addition, she has served as Town Clerk, making the approved by-law changes and certifying the necessary appropriations.
Sagarino just prepared and released the 2012 yearly Street List (Census) to over 9,000 Stoneham residents. She recently prepared for the event on Tuesday night and is currently preparing for the Presidential Primary election on March 6.
