McKinney Shooting: 1 arrested, police at Target on N Central Expy, McKinney, TX
McKinney Shooting Investigation: A man has been arrested following an incident at Target in McKinney, Texas Tuesday. According to reports, heavy police were located at the store located at 75 and 380 for a disturbance report. Arriving officers located a subject at the scene. The unidentified male was taken into custody from the scene. Shoppers on the scene alleged an active shooter, law enforcement agencies confirmed the incident was not an active shooter incident.
An increased police presence was at the Target at N Central Expy, McKinney, TX following the report of an active investigation on Tuesday. At the time of this publication, law enforcement agencies has not confirmed what exactly occurred and why the subject was arrested..
For Immediate Release: On February 13, 2024, members of the Collin County Sheriff’s Office, the U.S. Marshal’s Joint East Texas Fugitive Task Force, and the U.S. Marshal’s North Texas Fugitive Task Force arrested Gregory Noah Honesty (07-13-1998) in Dallas, Texas, for the charge of Murder, Penal Code 19.02(b)(4).
On November 19, 2023, Investigators with the Collin County Sheriff’s Office responded to the overdose death of a 25-year-old female in Blue Ridge, Texas. The Collin County Medical Examiner’s Office determined the cause of death to be fentanyl toxicity. Investigators gathered evidence linking Honesty to the sale of fentanyl-laced counterfeit M-30 pills to the female. Collin County Investigators obtained an arrest warrant, signed by 401st District Court Judge George Flint, charging Honesty with murder.
Under Texas Penal Code 19.02(b)(4), an individual may be charged with murder if he or she knowingly manufactures or delivers fentanyl and the individual dies as a result.
Sheriff Jim Skinner: I commend the Texas Legislature for amending the Texas Penal Code to help law enforcement combat the fentanyl epidemic and hold those responsible accountable for their actions. My office will continue to vigorously pursue anyone who comes here and distributes fentanyl-laced products that lead to a person’s death.
