MealTrain | Delaware Hockey Coach Dave Funk Died, Son Injured Following Car Accident

Dave Funk MealTrain – Dave Funk, a devoted husband, father, and respected hockey coach, tragically passed away following a severe car accident involving himself and his 16-year-old son.

While Funk suffered critical injuries that led to his passing, his son, though injured, is expected to recover.

Funk was a beloved member of the Delaware Ducks Hockey Club, where he served as a coach for multiple teams, including the 18U and Lady Ducks, in addition to leading the Ducks 10B squad.

His dedication, passion for the sport, and mentorship left an indelible mark on the players and families who were fortunate enough to work with him.

The Delaware Ducks Hockey Club issued a heartfelt statement, saying, “Dave was more than a coach; he was a friend and mentor who brought positivity and determination to the rink every day. He will be sorely missed as a cherished member of our hockey family. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this incredibly difficult time.”

Funk’s impact extended beyond the ice rink, where he was known as a dedicated father and community leader. His sudden passing has left a profound void in the lives of those who knew him.
