Newark Car Accident Investigation – A fiery crash left six people dead in Newark, New Jersey on Friday night.
The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office says the accident happened just before 11:00 p.m. at the intersection of Raymond Boulevard and Blanchard Street.
According to police, the car was traveling on Raymond Boulevard towards the southbound Route 1 and 9 on-ramp when it went off the roadway. Officials say the car then became airborne, striking a support column for the Pulaski Skyway before landing on the ground.
The vehicle then caught on fire upon landing, police say. Authorities are still trying to determine what led up to the crash.
