Nick Dillon Anna IL Death – Anna-Jonesboro Community High School Coach Nick Dillon has sadly passed away. He died on Wednesday 4th September 2024 after a tragic accident in Union County.
He was confirmed dead through a Facebook post that reads “Coach Nick Dillon and I started coaching together about six years ago in youth football. He was a former player for Anna-Jonesboro. He believed in the positive impact that football had on young people’s lives.”
A tragic vehicle accident on Wednesday claimed the life of one individual in Union County. The incident occurred along Illinois Route 127 near Mt. Glen Road at approximately 11:38 a.m. on September 4.
According to a spokesperson from the Illinois State Police (ISP), the accident involved a black 2016 Hyundai that veered off the roadway and collided with a tree.
The preliminary investigation indicates that the driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, lost control and exited the road before striking the tree. Emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after the crash was reported. Despite their efforts, the driver was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical personnel.
The Illinois State Police is continuing its investigation into the cause of the accident. At this time, it is unclear what factors may have contributed to the vehicle leaving the roadway. Authorities are examining all possibilities, including weather conditions, vehicle condition, and driver impairment.
