Paula Louise Dickinson IN Accident – Authorities have identified the victim of a fatal car crash that occurred on Sunday, August 25th, as 78-year-old Paula Louise Dickinson, a beloved resident of Owensville, Indiana.
The Gibson County Coroner’s Office released her name on Monday, following a thorough investigation into the accident that claimed her life.
The accident occurred around 11:28 a.m. at the intersection of County Road 400 South and County Road 350 West, a rural area known for its limited visibility.
According to the Gibson County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO), the tragic incident unfolded when a northbound Buick Century, driven by an unnamed individual, failed to yield the right of way at the intersection. The Buick collided with an eastbound Chevrolet Malibu, resulting in a severe crash.
Emergency services, including the Gibson County Ambulance Service and the Owensville Montgomery Township Fire Department, responded swiftly to the scene. Despite their efforts to save her, Dickinson succumbed to her injuries before she could be transported to a medical facility.
The driver of the other vehicle was immediately taken to an Evansville area hospital for treatment. As of now, details regarding their condition have not been disclosed, leaving the community anxious for further updates.
The Gibson County Coroner’s Office conducted an autopsy on Dickinson later that Sunday. Preliminary findings indicate that the cause of death was multiple blunt force trauma, a common consequence in high-impact collisions.
Toxicology results for the other driver are still pending, and investigators are waiting for these results before making any final determinations. The GCSO is also considering other factors that may have contributed to the crash, including potential speeding or driver impairment, as they work to complete their investigation.
